In MAHATMAS, the performers — who are also the choreographers — create an imaginary world that parallels their own lives.

Drawing inspiration from comic book literature, they compare their biography as dancers with that of the superheroes from the Fantastic Four saga, which in turn is based on the properties of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water.

As they age, the dancers/performers/superheroes realize that their “superpowers” are no longer what they once were, and even their appearance begins to falter.

Although they now possess great experience, their identity crisis becomes increasingly evident: the ability to wield their “superpowers” and “super moves” has partially disappeared.

Nevertheless, they would do anything to maintain their image as “jacks-of-all-trades”…
