GO TOWARDS

The GO TOWARDS project was awarded the Boarding Pass Plus 2022 grant from the Ministero della Cultura, achieving the highest possible score in the evaluation.

This initiative, now successfully concluded, was a transnational artistic research journey aimed at deconstructing the concept of cultural borders. Through the language of dance, GO TOWARDS promoted dance as a vehicle for dialogue and cross-contamination, laying the groundwork for a “borderless” vision of culture.

The partnership, coordinated by Arearea, included:

• National companies: Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni, Compagnia AdArte, Sanpapiè.
• 7 international partners: active across 7 countries, including AREAL (Romania), Derida Dance Center (Bulgaria), Machol Shalem Dance House (Israel), MN Dance Company (Netherlands), Improdancefest (Slovenia/Hungary), Cortocinesis (Spain), and Lobo Festival (Portugal).

The project involved 26 artists in a network of creative work and encounters, both national and international, anticipating and aligning ideally with the path toward Gorizia and Nova Gorica – European Capital of Culture 2025.

GO TOWARDS thus carried out an internationalization program aimed at consolidating dance as both a metaphorical and concrete bridge, facilitating artistic dialogue beyond every geographical and cultural barrier.
