Arearea in tahitian means “game”, “fun”. Keeping alive the intimate nature of game, we have been dancing for many years now to young and old audience. In the last adventure we went on last year, we make the statement of game explicit.
Play with me is a show about game, indeed: physical and virtual one. What does entertain us? It’s about seamlessly shifting from to game to game, letting fantasy go, being in someone else’s shoes, becoming any thing, any animal. It’s about saying yes and saying no. It’s about playing, playing and keep on playing. A dancer and an actor on the stage discover their playful nature. They challenge the duration of fun. In the background, their bodies tell the limitless possibilities of contemporary dance, with no words and no “once upon a time”.
