Looking for Tina
Marta Bevilacqua / Compagnia Arearea
2015
The cultural and artistic value of Arearea proposals in the district of Udine laid the foundation for an original project involving Civic Museums and, more specifically, Museum of Contemporary Art “Casa Cavazzini.”
Casa Cavazzini has been a creative space for Arearea’s dancers inside the exhibition dedicated to Tina Modotti.
Gestural path proposed by Arearea interlaced with installations and gave amplification to the exhibition tour.
Life of Tina Modotti is, at the same time, a novel and a work of art, a story of creation and revolution, an intense crossing between a woman’s depths and the revolution of a world fed up with totalitarianism.
Just as her photographic production nourished itself with the human, the daily gestures and life at the border, so too the gestural inspiration takes place from photographic inspirations to tune with the femininity of the character Tina.
The work prefers listening over the artistic effect, looking over analysis.
