Play with me comes from the urgency of making an inquiry about the virtual game and the fallout it has on the body.
Improvisations and laboratories with young boys and girls helped us to collect the favorite games of different age groups (grown-ups and little ones). Our journey set out in 2015, and we have been living the show as an open work ever since. We started by reading Homo Ludens by Huizinga, and we realized that game is a serious matter. To understand the nature of the game, by actually doing it, helps to know better many things about ourselves: how we react to our instincts, how we turn our fantasy into action, how we relate to the other, how we communicate.
We studied our child side – the kids were really helpful in that.
On stage, there are a dancer and an actor. I’m at the music desk.
They put themselves to the test in a competition on who knows more games.
They are restricted to a square-shaped space, maybe it’s their room.
We call it “Fabricland.”
In Fabricland there is a prince. The Prince Couch.
He is a crownless teenager who has a comfortable sofa as a shrine.
By his side, a certain Ludmilla. She looks like a cat. She is a nature-loving creature.
A hypothetic birthday party changes everything.
A special gift is put between the two. And the games change quickly.
