2018

The Museum in Dance project connects together different fields of culture, by renewing formats and ways of fruition, so as to raise the interest of broader ranges of public and to bring closer new types of viewers/audience to contemporary performative arts and to our precious museum heritage. The initiative falls into the activities for the promotion and hospitality of contemporary dance aimed at supporting the culture of the contemporary.

Marta Bevilacqua says:

“Museum in Dance is a project that started in 2016 and wants to explore the relationship between movement and space by realizing performances in fascinating places not usually assigned to show locations.
How do we face a work of art, which action it suggests, what does it impress on our body, what do we take away from each visit, which detail lingers on?
These are the questions we make before taking our journey in the museum and upon which we will create an improvisation route.
For me, it’s always about working on memories and the life of those memories.”

Under the direction of Marta Bevilacqua, an itinerary through the works and the evocative spaces of the Museum will take place: a journey from modern to contemporary art.
The Company will live in the museum building for two days and will compose improvisational frameworks in relation to the public. The works exhibited and the performers, linked empathically with the audience, will engage new senses and perspectives to the visitors’ eye.
