Luca Zampar

DANCER/CHOREOGRAPHER

TRAINING EXPERIENCE

A dancer and choreographer, Luca Zampar is distinguished by the eclecticism of his training.
He began studying classical dance with Doriana Comar before moving on to funk with Ranko Yokoyama in Rome.
In 2001 he was admitted to the Accademia Isola Danza of the Venice Biennale, under the direction of Carolyn Carlson.
He took part in artistic workshops on disability at UET StazioneRiva for the Progetto Opalus Ballet Project (a dance company made up of women with disabilities and their educators), in collaboration with Coop. Soc. UNIVERSIIS di Udine (a social cooperative offering services for the elderly, minors, and people with disabilities).

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE

A member of Compagnia Arearea’s core ensemble since 1996, he has worked with various research-based companies across Italy.
In 2001 he joined the Venice Biennale Dance Company and danced in J. Beuys Song, choreographed by Carolyn Carlson and presented at the Arsenale di Venezia for the Biennale Danza season. Also with Carolyn Carlson, he danced in Light Bringers (2002), Poetry Event (2009), and We Were Horses (2013). He has collaborated with various companies, dance associations, and directors, including Sosta Palmizi, Onda Teatro, Naturalis Labor, Rebecca Murgi, Giorgio Rossi, and Silvia Traversi.

AUTHORIAL EXPERIENCE

In 2002 he co-authored and performed, together with Davide Sportelli, the duet “Tra,” commissioned by Biennale Danza for the project “7 coreografi.” He co-authored and performed in the show Linea Imperfetta for the Premio Terzani, in the show Penitenziagite for the Nuova Musica festival, and in the choreographic installation Box_Two. His most recent work as an author is Furioso_studio su Orlando.

EXPERIENCE AS A TRAINER

From 2001 to the present, he has taught contemporary dance at the Civica Accademia d’Arte Drammatica Nico Pepe in Udine. He is a certified instructor of the Contakids method, having completed the International Contakids Teacher Training led by Itay Yatuv.
